HEART WALK

Have you ever experienced heart problems?

Has a family member of yours ever experienced heart problems?

Has a friend or business/professional associate ever experienced heart problems?

In all likelihood, you answered “yes” to one or more of the preceding questions…

If so, perhaps you’d like to work on this year’s American Heart Association “Walk” to take place on Saturday, May 13, 2006.

I have been asked to chair this year’s event. A good committee structure is in place, but we need to recruit some other committee members to help plan and make the event a success.

We also will need walkers on May 21st. Perhaps you would like to form a “Team” of 15 walkers, collect at least $150, and participate in the event that way. There will be a breakfast at Sweet Basil’s, T-Shirts for those who raise $150.00 or more, and other prizes. The “Walk” will take us to Kingwood Center and back. It is a fairly easy course, one that just about any of us can complete!

If you are interested in participating in any way, give me a call at 419-756-6878 (or email me at ddaugherty6@neo.rr.com) and let’s talk about it.

REHAB CENTER TELETHON

As you recall, if you make a $25 contribution to the Rehab Telethon, the Club will match it with another $10. Jim Schaum, the Rehab Center CEO, will also match the contribution with another $25!

To Date, 31 Rotarians have already participated and if there are additional members that want to take advantage of the club match they should contact Pat Chilcote by Friday.

There has been a cancellation for the on-air phone banks and the Rehab Center is looking for individuals to work the phone bank from 8-9. We need 3 or 4 people. Call Pam Jacobs at 419-756-1133 to volunteer.
